Update Notifications
Our products check for current releases and provide an in-product notification when a new release is available. This process does not send any information to WilloWare, it is only retrieving the current build number for each product.
Installation creates a Security Role called WILLOWAREUPDATES and assigns it to all POWERUSERS. You can control who sees the update notifications by unmarking the WILLOWAREUPDATES role in the User Security window (Tools >> Setup >> System >> User Security):
Not more than once every seven days a WilloWare product will check for new releases. That information is stored in the System Database (DYNAMICS) in WVerBuilds. If you want to prevent our software from ever checking for updates, for all rows in the table set versionBuild to zero and BLDCHKDT to 12/31/9999.
Do Not Remind Me
- 1 Week: After a week you will receive another notification
- 1 Month: After 30 days you will receive another notification
- Again: You will not receive another notification for the displayed “Newest Build”. As shown above the “new build” is 284, so you would not receive another notification for 284. However, when 285 is released, you would receive a notification for that new build.
Opt Out
You can opt out of all future notifications. This will remove the WILLOWAREUPDATES Security Role from your User ID. If you want to again receive update notifications use the User Security Setup window to assign WILLOWAREUPDATES to your User ID.
