From the PO Release Entry window click the GoTo Button >> Planned Release Wizard
Use the Planned Release Wizard to automatically calculate the dates on which a number of releases should occur (such as the first Monday of every month). Once the desired set of Dates and Quantities are calculated, the Planned Release Wizard can automatically create the Planned Releases. The Planned Release Wizard works only with POs or PO Lines that use a Control Quantity—it cannot be used when the Blanket is controlled by dollar amount.
NOTE: The Control Quantity on the Release Wizard shows the Control Quantity Remaining from the PO Release Entry window.
Release Quantity
Begin by making selections in the Release Quantity section. The Release Wizard can calculate based a Fixed Quantity, where it will use as many releases as needed to consume the Control Quantity, or it can Divide the Control Quantity Evenly over releases in a set time period.
Fixed Quantity requires a Release Quantity and Start Date. Depending on the “Release Pattern”, the first release will be on or after the Start Date. For example, if the Release Pattern is for Every Monday but your Start Date is a Tuesday, the first release will be on the following Monday. Additional releases will be calculated until the entire Control Quantity is used. The final release may be smaller than the Release Quantity.
Divide Evenly requires a Start Date and End Date. The wizard will first calculate how many releases fall within the date range (inclusive of the start/end dates). The Control Quantity is then divided by the number of releases and rounded to the Item’s Quantity Decimals setting. The final release will be adjusted up or down, if needed, to ensure the entire Control Quantity is consumed.
Release Pattern
Make selections in the Release Pattern section to pick how you want the release dates calculated. After selecting Release Pattern options, click CALCULATE. Calculating will fill the scrolling window with Dates and Quantities that will be used to create the Planned Releases.
You can make changes to the Release Quantity and Release Pattern options as often as you like, clicking CALCULATE each time to refresh the scrolling window.
Create Releases
Create Releases will add a new Planned Release to the PO Release Entry window for each calculated release in the Release Wizard scrolling window. If needed, individual Planned Releases can be modified after they have been added to the PO Release Entry window.
