Overview

MFG Import for GP Manufacturing is a set of highly flexible tools for importing Bills of Material and Routings into Dynamics GP from an Excel file or SQL table. The import process can provide default values for most of the fields required to create a BOM or Routing, which streamlines the import process by requiring only a few key fields.

An Import Mapping tool adapts the import to whatever file layout is provided, be that from a CAD package or an export from another ERP system.

BOM Import can import multiple levels of a BOM, and multiple separate BOMs at once. At this time, Excel allows a maximum of 1,048,576 rows. BOM Import will allow 1,048,575 lines because it requires the first one row be column headers. There is no limit with the SQL integration.

New items can be created on the fly through the use of “Template Items” and an integration between BOM Import and WilloWare’s Item Copy utility in MFG PowerPack. You must have MFG PowerPack installed to use BOM Import. A free “Item Copy API” registration key is available for MFG PowerPack when BOM Import is purchased.

Routing Import can import routings for multiple items at one time. If the import contains a routing that already exists in GP, it will delete the routing from GP before importing the new version.
