SmartList Builder

EZImport ships with SmartList Builder objects that mirror SmartList objects for other GP Transactions. For example, GP sales transactions can be found in two SmartList objects: Sales Transactions and Sales Lines. EZImport includes the following SmartList Builder objects:

EZ Sales Lines

EZ Sales Transactions

EZ All Sales Document

EZ All Sales Lines

EZ Purchase Orders

EZ Purchase Order Lines

EZ All PO Documents

EZ All PO Lines

EZ All Sales Document and EZ All Sales Lines are based on two new SQL views added to the system by EZImport. The views merge all documents from the Sales Open and Sales History tables with the EZ Import Sales tables.

Likewise, the “All PO” SmartList objects merge the PO Open, History, and EZ tables.

GoTo options are provided for all of the EZ SmartList objects, such as EZ All Purchase Orders, which will open the document in either a GP or EZ window depending on the location of the document (GP Open, GP History, or EZ).

Before loading the SmartLists, you need to grant security to the SQL Views. Go to Tools >> SmartList Builder >> Security >> SQL Table Security.

Mark the Database on the left, then select Views on the right, and mark all of the “ez” views.

To load the SmartList builder objects:

Tools >> SmartList Builder >> Import

Click the Folder button

Navigate to: c:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics\GP\Data\EZImport

Select an xml file and click Open.

On the Import SmartLists window click Import

After import SmartList Builder objects, open the SmartList window. SmartListBuilder will see the new objects and incorporated them into SmartList. The new objects will not be visible yet because security needs to be granted.

Close SmartList.

Follow your normal procedures from granting security access to SmartList objects.
