Item Label Setup
HelpID: 542422024
Item Label Setup is opened from the blue expansion arrow on the LabelLink Setup window.
A label can be linked to one or more Item Numbers. When a label is linked to an item, and that label is selected in the LabelLink window, the window will display only the Item Number(s) to which it is linked, which facilitates quickly printing item specific labels. See the LabelLink chapter for more information.
To set up Item-Label links, click the blue expansion button shown above.
Item-Label Setup for Automation is NOT user specific, so the User ID will be blank, and All Users selected automatically.
For all other labelling methods, Item-Labels can be defined per User or for All Users. Note that when performing “All Users” setup, the Label Name must be the same for each user. For example, the Label Name might be “Raw Materials” even though the label files are RawMaterials_Dave.lbl, RawMaterials_Jane.lbl and so on.
Add Item Numbers to the list to link them to the label. Items can be added manually, by entering an Item Number or selecting one from the Lookup window.
Items can also be imported from a SmartList. Open a SmartList that displays the Items you want to import (for example, a SmartList showing all Items in Item Class FG-STD). The only requirement is that Item Number must be the first column in the SmartList. Then return to the Item-Label Setup window and click “Add SmartList Items”. Item Numbers will be read from the displayed SmartList and assigned to the Label. Duplicates will be ignored, and if an Item is already assigned to another Label it will be ignored.
