SpellCheck must be attached to a Text or String field where you want to perform spell checking. The settings are system-wide, so once a SpellCheck location is defined, it is active for all companies where SpellCheck is enabled. To Enable or Disable SpellCheck for a specific Company, review the installation instructions at www.willoware.com/install.

Define a SpellCheck location by selecting the Product, Series, Form Name, Window Name, and Field Name.

Setup for several common locations is provided below:

Dynamics GP “Notes” windows. There are 5 of these, and they will be listed in sequence as “Note”. The “technical name” is Form_Note_1, Form_Note_2, etc. Attach SpellCheck to each of the five Note Entry windows. The same note entry windows are used for all Record-Level and Window-Level notes.

Product: Microsoft Dynamics GP

Series: System

Form Name: Note

Window Name: Note

Field Name: Text Field

Sales Comment Entry. The same window is used for both the Document-level comment and the line Comment.

Product: Microsoft Dynamics GP

Series: Sales

Form Name: Sales Comment Entry

Window Name: Sales Comment Entry

Field Name: Comment Text

Comment Setup

Product: Microsoft Dynamics GP

Series: Company

Form Name: Comment Setup

Window Name: Comment Setup

Field Name: Comment Text

Test the SpellCheck location by selecting it in the scrolling window, then clicking the Blue Arrow.

SpellCheck will attempt to open the window, and confirm that it can access the specified field. If the SpellCheck location is OK, it will flash RED, as shown above.

Company Dictionary: opens the Company Dictionary window (see the Company Dictionary chapter).

Templates: Select from a SpellCheck Template to quickly add the window (or windows) to the SpellCheck Setup window. Templates include common SpellCheck locations, such as “notes” or “comments” windows.

DEX.INI Switch

SpellCheck will attempt first to use Microsoft Word for SpellChecking. If Word cannot be found, or there is an error attempting to launch it, SpellCheck will default to using the SpellCheck webservice. You can control which method is used, or completely disable SpellCheck, with the following dex.ini switch:

SpellCheck=WEB/WORD/EITHER/OFF

SpellCheck will always default to using Word, and then Web, if the switch is absent or has an invalid value (such as MSWORD).
