Item Tariff Code Maintenance
HelpID: 713622028
The Tariff Module calculates sales line tariffs by looking for the Tariff Codes assigned to each item.
Navigation: Tools >> Setup >> Company >> Tariff Setup >> Item Tariff Code button
The Tariff Module does not use the Item Shipping Weight from Item Maintenance because it may include packaging or other amounts not related to the duty calculation. For example, an Item may have a different weights for Aluminum and Steel within the item.
See the Tariff Code Per Weight.
EXCEL IMPORT
This window can be populated by copying-pasting a list from Excel. The required layout is shown above (do not include column headers).
- Column 1: Item Number
- Column 2: Tariff Code
- Column 3: Item Weight
Select the data in Excel then click the PASTE button in the Tariff Code Maintenance window. There are two options: “Append To Item” and “Replace For Item”.
- Append To Item: In the example above, if 128 SDRAM – 8543.70.98.60 is already assigned but CN is new the new code will be added. The import file could have just CN and it would add CN.
- Replace For Item: This method deletes all HTS codes assigned to an Item in the import and then adds the codes assigned to the item. In the example above, if 128 SDRAM was assigned code MX before the import, after the import MX would be gone and replaced by CN and 8543.70.98.60.
NOTE: the PASTE function does not touch an Item if it is not in the file.
